1. Bucharest, Romania 1 st -9 th of May, 2004 “Europe in 1 week” … Democracy, freedom, federalism

2. 1 st of May – “A vision of Europe ” On the 1 st of May, 30 young people have participated in the event organized by JEF Romania. This encounter had as main purpose the information regarding European structures from the perspective of JEF ideals and principals. Starting with a presentation of JEF in Romania, of the members and campaigns we want to organize and until an interactive presentation of European institutions provided by an European Counselor, this meeting turned out to be a dynamic dialogue between young people of different educational backgrounds.

3. … We had people talking about present, future, visions of a United Europe. … We had people brainstorming about how to organize a campaign to find out what people think of Europe and about how it will become in maybe 10 year. And this is how “A vision of Europe” was born on the 1 st of May: By free discussions; By free discussions; By cooperation; By strengthening the JEF RO Team ….

4. 9 th of May … The contest initiated on the 1 st of May become a joint campaign of questions about Europe. Over one week all the participants in the first meeting formed out teams which approached different people in order to find out what Romania thinks of Europe. So we had people talking to children and we had “ European Union is like a Superman ….” So we had people talking to 15 years old and we had “ Europe is a place of infinite discoveries…” And than the students in Journalism, or Economics, or Political Sciences… And than all the rest they could find of…. It was a rather intense week but the key word was enthusiasm.

5. After gathering all these information we were able to create leaflets illustrating a whole new Europe. On the 9 th of May, we met in a wonderful park and exchanged impressions accumulated from this lively interaction with Bucharest Starting with the presentation of our campaign and ending with working groups for a common vision of EUROPE.

6. 5 working groups have been formed, each having a tough negotiator, having as assignment to bring up a visionary image of Europe. Starting from different ideas, the negotiators had to reach a common perspective that all teams agreed upon.
