Common Objection: Muhammad is prophesied in the Bible!

Muhammad prophecied in Bible What do Muslims claim? “Sura 61:6 tells us that Muhammad was prophecied in the Bible!“ “And remember, Jesus, the son of Mary, said: ‘O children of Israel! I am the apostle of Allah sent to you confirming the Law which came before me, and giving you glad tidings of an apostle to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad.’”

Muhammad prophecied in Bible What do Muslims claim? “John 14:16 speaks about Muhammad!“  ‘comforter’ in Greek is ‘parakletos’  ‘the praised one’ in Greek is ‘periclytos’

Muhammad prophecied in Bible What do Muslims claim? “Deut. 18:15 speaks about Muhammad!”  ‘the prophet’ refers to Jesus  John the Baptist  Philip  Peter – all clearly refer to Jesus

Common Objection: The Gospel of Barnabas is the only true Gospel!

Gospel of Barnabas true Gospel Where does the GoB come from?  Manuscript first appeared in Holland in 1709, written in Italian language  Source not known  George Sale mentions a copy of GoB in Spanish in his translation of Qur’an 1734  That copy was translation from Italian by a Spanish Muslim

Gospel of Barnabas true Gospel Where does the GoB come from?  Translation of GoB into English in 1907 by Laura and Lonsdale Ragg  In their introduction they provide internal and external evidence that GoB is a medieval forgery  This translation is published by Muslims till today, but without the introduction

1. The Birth of Jesus was painless. Against the Qur'an (Sura 19:23): "The virgin … brought forth her son without pain." (GoB 3) 2. The Gospel was presented to Jesus by Gabriel, a typical Islamic concept. "The angel Gabriel presented to him as it were a shining mirror, a book, which descended into the heart of Jesus …" (GoB 10) 3. Jesus went Up to the possibly lowest lying town on earth, Capernaum (200m below sea level) "Jesus went up to Capernaum …" (GoB 21) Problems in the “Gospel of Barnabas”

4. Jesus went by boat to Nazareth (High in the Mountains!) "Jesus went to the sea of Galilee, and having embarked in a ship sailing to his city of Nazareth." (GoB 20) 5. Barnabas is claimed to be an Apostle of Jesus, but he was not! "Barnabas, apostle of Jesus the Nazarene." (GoB 1) 6. Adam and Eve did not eat an apple, but fruit European artists introduced the apple. Satan presented himself before the woman like a beautiful angel and said to her: 'Wherefore eat ye not of those apples and of corn?'" (GoB 40) Problems in the “Gospel of Barnabas”

7. Jesus only takes the role of the preparer for the Messiah “Therein it is written that Ishmael is the father of the Messiah, and Isaac the father of the messenger of the Messiah.” (GoB 191) 8. Muhammad is the Messiah ! THIS IS EVEN AGAINST THE QUR'AN! Then said the priest: 'How shall the Messiah be called, and what sign shall reveal his coming? Muhammad is his blessed name." (GoB 97) Problems in the “Gospel of Barnabas”

Evaluation: There can be no doubt that the "Gospel of Barnabas" is a forgery.
