3. Starting a Business Because of cost cutting measures, many hospitals do not staff their own ambulance and medics. Instead they hire private companies to pick-up, stabilize, and delivery patients to the hospital. You are going to start you own ambulance service.

4. What are your expenses? Read the section on page 209 on expenses. List the expenses you think that you’ll accrue starting up and running your ambulance service.

5. Advertising When advertising, a company needs to consider: – how it will advertise. – Where it will advertise. – How much it will spend on advertisements. Brainstorm how, where, and how much your company will advertise.

6. Record Keeping Read the section on record keeping on page 210 Draw up a simple record keeping book to show your monthly expenses, revenue, and profit.

7. Risk All business ventures involve risk. List the risks involved with starting an ambulance service, and list the benefits. – Not all risks and benefits involve money Decide if the risks are worth the potential benefits.
