Located in Hessen, Fulda county About 6.400 inhabitants Area of ~90 km² 16 districts Business structure o ca. 450 companies o one private boarding school (including secondary school) o Tourism (conferences, etc.) o Services (engineers, etc.) o Production (with international distribution) o Agriculture (telecontrol engineering) o Public services (administration, schools, nursery, etc.) Introduction

13 © Rüdiger Ratz Committee of the Regions 11.10.2011 in Brussels Conclusion LTE-bandwidth is close to fibre-based solutions and meets the demand in rural areas: o Makes broadband speeds in rural areas comparable to larger cities o It is an independent, value-enhancing investment o Enables not only broadband access but also internet-radio, internet-telephony and IPTV o Low migration complexity from legacy infrastructures LTE is a future-proof infrastructure
