Middle East Refugee Crisis

STORIES THAT MUST BE HEARD

Four years into the Syrian crisis, most of the 4 million Syrian refugees who fled to Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Turkey and Egypt see no hope of returning home soon.

3 million people in Iraq have now now fled their homes. Even for those who survive the terrifying brutality of Islamic State militants (IS), life is sheer misery.

Meet baby Hope. Having fled when the Islamic State came to her village, Hope’s mother fled with 20,000 others. Hope was born under a tree on a mountain top - in the middle of a gun battle

'Narin was one of thousands who fled their homes in Iraq to escape IS. As her mother explained… 'It is too hard for the children. There is no water. The children get sick from living in these tents. This is not a place to live in.’

Father, there is so much pain and conflict across the Middle East. We pray that timely help and support reaches all who are in need. We pray for leaders throughout the region and ask you to turn their hearts towards peace. As leaders around the world consider how to respond, please grant them wisdom and insight. Lord Jesus, you are the Prince of Peace. We pray for an end to the violence and ask you to turn stories of sadness to ones of hope across the region. In your precious name we pray. Amen A PRAYER FOR THE MIDDLE EAST
