6 FOOD Japanese people eat a large variety of food. Take away food is available in the cities. All types of food can be bought. Restaurants have plastice models of food on their windows. Supermarkets sell a large variety of products. Some farmers use small machines to harvest the rice.

7 Weather Weather in japan is usually hot cold windy or snowy. When it is snowy Japanese people go skiing. When it is windy people fly kites.

8 festivals The carp is one of the symbols of Children’s Day. The carp is a symbol of strength. Children wear origami samurai hats. Children’s day is celebrated on the 5 th may.

9 clothing Kimonos are worn for special events. Sometimes the patterns are a symbols of nature.

10 school in Japan Students practise calligraphy. Japanese schools welcome visitors. Students clean their own toilets.

11 Earthquakes and Volcanoes There are more than 1000 Earthquakes every year. Japan’s largest volcano is Mount Fuji.

12 Transport The bullet Train is the fastest way to get around Japan. Tokyo trains are very crowded with people. Passengers travel to work on a train in Tokyo. Bullet Trains have telephones, toilets and dining cars.
