6 Roland Zwiers Presentation EESC European Semester Lisbon versus European Semester Time-table: less time to comment on the NRP So: kick off meeting in December 2011 Time-table: country-specific recommendations in June But: no additional consultation with the minister So: briefings organised by case officers of ministries Special briefings also on other occasions: special EU Summits, the Van Rompuy report. Content: European Semester has more bite than Lisbon, has to be taken more seriously But: biggest trade union federation had problems organising a mandate for European issues Yet: the biggest trade union federation is re-inventing itself Yet: this is work in progress.
