They destroy vegetation with flowing lava and ash that falls from the sky.
Lava turns into rock creating new land and rocks.
All things die under the hot lava.
There is less area to grow plants.

The water and wind cause erosion of land or loss of land.
Strong winds destroy plants and vegetation.
Too much water can cause soil to be useless for growing crops.
