Provisional data on coverage for the following immunisations:  12 months: DTaP/IPV/Hib  24 months: MMR dose 1  5 years: MMR dose 2 Provisional data, not for release outside the NHS/Public Health Department CHILDHOOD IMMUNISATION COVERAGE Q2 2014/15

 Camden had 92% coverage in 12- month olds, which was significantly higher than London (90%), although still short of the WHO 95% target.  14 th out of 31 London boroughs. Context – Camden vs London boroughs, 12 months 2 Note: Enfield is not included in this analysis as data is not available. City of London is also excluded, due to small numbers of eligible children. Source: PHE, 2015

 Camden had 85% coverage in 24- month olds, which was significantly lower than the national average (92%). Context – Camden vs London boroughs, 24 months 3 Note: Enfield is not included in this analysis as data is not available. City of London is also excluded, due to small numbers of eligible children. 4  Camden had 82% coverage in five-year olds, which was significantly lower than the national average (89%). Context – Camden vs London boroughs, 5 year 4 Note: Enfield is not included in this analysis as data is not available. City of London is also excluded, due to small numbers of eligible children. 5  Coverage in one-year old children ranged from 63% to 100% among GP practices in South locality.  Three GP practices in South locality had significantly lower coverage than the WHO target (95%). DTaP/IPV/Hib coverage in children aged 12 months 5 Note: Red bars indicate a coverage lower than the WHO target and blue bars indicate a coverage no different to the WHO target. Bedford Square Medical Centre and Plender Street in South Camden are now closed and are not included in this analysis. Source: PHE, 2015

 In total there were 12 children aged 12 months needed to be immunised to meet the 95% target in Q2 2014/15 in South locality.  The five practices below the 95% target were between 1 and 4 children away from meeting it. How many children aged 12 months needed to be immunised to meet 95% WHO target? 6 Note: Bedford Square Medical Centre and Plender Street in South Camden are now closed and are not included in this analysis. Source: PHE, 2015

 MMR coverage among two-year old children ranged from 50% to 100% among GP practices in South locality.  Three GP practices in South locality had significantly lower coverage than the WHO target (95%). MMR coverage in children aged 24 months 7 Note: Red bars indicate a coverage lower than the WHO target and blue bars indicate a coverage no different to the WHO target. St Philips Medical Centre in South Camden has not submitted the data and is not included in this analysis. Bedford Square Medical Centre and Plender Street in South Camden are now closed and are excluded from this analysis. Source: PHE, 2015

 In total there were 11 children aged 24 months needed to be immunised to meet the 95% target in Q2 2014/15 in South locality.  The five practices below the 95% target were between 1 and 3 children away from meeting it. How many children aged 24 months needed to be immunised to meet WHO target? 8 Note: St Philips Medical Centre in South Camden has not submitted the data and is not included in this analysis. Bedford Square Medical Centre and Plender Street in South Camden are now closed and are excluded from this analysis. Source: PHE, 2015

 MMR2 coverage among five-year old children ranged from 0% to 100% among GP practices in South locality.  More than half of the GP practices in South locality had significantly lower coverage than the WHO target (95%). MMR 2 coverage in children aged 5 years 9 Note: Red bars indicate a coverage lower than the WHO target and blue bars indicate a coverage no different to the WHO target. St Philips Medical Centre in South Camden has not submitted the data and is not included in this analysis. Bedford Square Medical Centre and Plender Street in South Camden are now closed and are excluded from this analysis. Source: PHE, 2015

 In total there were 29 children aged 5 years needed to be immunised to meet the 95% target in Q2 2014/15 in South locality.  The nine practices below the 95% target were between 1 and 10 children away from meeting it. How many children aged 5 years needed to be immunised to meet WHO target? 10 Note: St Philips Medical Centre in South Camden has not submitted the data and is not included in this analysis. Bedford Square Medical Centre and Plender Street in South Camden are now closed and are excluded from this analysis. Source: PHE, 2015

How many children needed to be immunised? Q4 2013/14 to Q2 2014/15 combined, South locality 11 Note: The percentages are the additional number of children needed to immunised to bring coverage up to the 95% target split by whether the practices missed the target continuously or not, as proportion to the additional number of whole children needed. Practices that did not submit the data for any of the three quarters are not included in this analysis.

12  Camden has low coverage in childhood immunisations compared to London and England, particularly for vaccinations in older children (two and five year olds).  There is considerable variation in immunisation uptake between GP practices within Camden, particularly in older children. In Q2 2014/15 5 GP practices in South locality achieved 95% coverage for MMR2 in 5 year olds. However, 8 practices were significantly below the WHO target and 5 of those were also significantly below target in the previous quarter.  Further work is needed to improve uptake of immunisations to reach WHO recommended coverage levels (95%).  The findings from the previous quarters suggest everyone can do more, and only a small additional number of children vaccinated would result in a noticeable rise in coverage.  Focus needs to be on improving the accessibility and reach of the immunisation programme, as well as to improve data recording, reporting and monitoring.
