10 TACIS TRACECA is a multi country programme through Central Asia. The programme aims to develop trade (trade facilitation) between countries in the region and abroad The same principle applies to the Region Experience of Other Regional Programmes

11 Brief Overview of Outputs: 1.Borders Harmonisation An interactive data base showing neighbouring country border procedures. This was a large data gathering task but it led to clarity of discussions and training based on factual information. Clarity of existing borders management control (Customs, Border Guards, etc.) by discussion and agreement.

12 Brief Overview of Outputs: 2. Tariff Policy Through the working groups it was possible to agree in principle to accept a normative approach to costing rail freight. This has led to acceptance of a pilot project to evaluate implementation (TTT pilot) In addition, through working groups it was possible to agree a policy for road permit calculations and generate a desire to implement
