2. LIFE SCIENCE 1 st Grade Specific Objectives: The learner will understand that plants have a life cycle. The learner will observe the changes that occur during plant growth. The learner will be able to identify each of the different stages of bean plant growth. The learner will be able to place in the correct sequence the different growth stages of a plant. 3. A seed is what the plant grows out of. STAGE 1: SEED CLICK ON PICTURE BELOW

4. Roots help a plant get water and food from the soil STAGE THREE: ROOTS The first part of the plant to break out of the seed, is the seed’s roots.

5. STAGE 4: STEM After the ROOTS are in the soil, the stem pushes the rest of the plant up through the top of the soil.ROOTS

6. After the STEM pushes through the soil, the leaves are able to get sunlight.STEM STAGE 5: LEAVES The plant is now called a SEEDLING!SEEDLING

7. STAGE 6: FLOWERS The Plant grows flowers. This is the beginning to the plants fruit.

8. STAGE 7: FRUIT After the plant grows FLOWERS, the plant grows fruit. FLOWERS This plant’s fruit are the beans that are growing.

9. STAGE 8: SEEDS Inside the bean plant’s fruit are seeds for new plants. This starts the cycle all over again!
