2 Agnes Macphail Who ~ Agnes Macphail was a spokesperson for the United Farmers of Ontario, who then became the first Women for the Federal Government. What ~ She developed an act under the Human rights legislation for, old-age pensions, prison reforms, and farmers’ co-operatives. Where ~ All the events took place in Canada, Ontario. When ~ Agnes Macphail’s story began in 1921. Why ~ She did it because she thought that the women then, were being treated un-fairly.

3 Emily Carr Who ~ Emily Carr was an artist, who was from Victoria, British Columbia. Her artwork was inspired by native culture of Pacific Coast and rainforests and seascapes. What ~ She went to Paris, to find out about the “New Art” of the post-impressions. Where ~ She opened a store in Vancouver to sell her paintings, and did not succeed. So she re-turned to Victoria. When ~ This started to happen in 1910 and then, in 1927. Why ~ Because she loved to paint, it was more then a hobby to her. It was her life. A passion that could not be destroyed.

4 Lucille Teasdale Who ~ Lucille Teasdale was a women who wanted to be a surgeon but, Canada and the U.S.A. would not admit her because she was a women. What ~ She received numerous international honours including the Order of Quebec and the Order of Canada before she died in 1996. Where ~ Well she went to a medical school in Montreal then, interned at St. Justine- Hospital and met her future husband Peiro Corti, who convinced her to open a hospital with him in Gulu, Uganda. When ~ She arrived in Gulu, Uganda in 1961 with Peiro Corti. She stayed in Gulu, Uganda until 1996 which was when she died. Why ~ She wanted to be a surgeon, so that she could help people.
