2 National landmarks The St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is a Bulgarian Orthodox cathedral in Sofia.Built in Neo-Byzantine style, it serves as the cathedral church of the Patriarch of Bulgaria and is one of the largest Eastern Orthodox cathedrals in the world, as well as one of Sofia's symbols and primary tourist .It is the second biggest cathedral located on the Balkan Peninsula. The Shipka Memorial is a memorial to those who died for the Liberation of Bulgaria during the Battles of Shipka Pass in the Russo-Turkish War of YAMEK Ltd.

3 Bulgarian opera singers
Raina Kabaivanska is a Bulgarian opera singer, one of the leading lyrico-spinto sopranos of her generation, particularly associated with Verdi and Puccini, although she sang a wide range of roles. She was voted "the most popular person in Italy" 5 times over. Boris Christoff was a Bulgarian opera singer. He is considered to have been one of the greatest basses of the 20th century. Nicolai Ghiaurov was a Bulgarian opera singer and one of the most famous bass singers of the postwar period. He was admired for his powerful, sumptuous voice, and was particularly associated with roles of Verdi. YAMEK Ltd.

4 Bulgarian musicians Vasko Vassilev is a Bulgarian musician. In 1994 he became the youngest concert master of the orchestra at the Royal Opera House - London, which regularly plays as a soloist. Perform classical works, and music with a modern sound. Bulgarian native Maxim Eshkenazy has been described as a musician of "vigor and intelligence…" who conducts with "complete assuredness and insight…" The Los Angeles Times calls him "charismatic and exciting." 5 Valya Mladenova Balkanska is a Bulgarian folk music singer from the Rhodope Mountains known for singing the song "Izlel e Delyu Haydutin", part of the Voyager Golden Record selection of music included in the two Voyager spacecraft launched in 1977. Traditional Bulgarian music has had more international success, due to the breakout international success of The Mystery Of Bulgarian Voices, a woman's choir that has topped world music charts across Europe and even farther abroad Stefka Sabotinova is a Bulgarian folk singer, singer of folk songs from Thrace region. World famous production in 1994 with the song "Prituri up the mountain”, with the new modern arrangement of Jackie Anona. YAMEK Ltd.

6 Bulgarian painters Vladimir Dimitrov — Maistora was a Bulgarian painter, draughtsman and teacher. He is considered one of the most talented 20th century Bulgarian painters and probably the most remarkable stylist in Bulgarian painting in the post-Russo-Turkish War era. His portraits and compositions have expressive color, idealistic quality of the image and high symbolic strength. The artist Ivan Milev is one of the extraordinary representatives of Bulgarian Modernism. His paintings of fairylands and of the soul and fate of his people made him a central figure of the Bulgarian artistic and cultural landscape of the 1920s. 7 Bulgarian writers Ivan Vazov,  man of letters whose poems, short stories, novels, and plays are inspired by patriotism and love of the Bulgarian countryside and reflect the main events in his country’s history. Lyuben Karavelov was a Bulgarian writer and an important figure of the Bulgarian National Revival.

8 National heroes Hristo Botev was a Bulgarian poet and national revolutionary. Botev is widely considered by Bulgarians to be a symbolic historical figure and national hero. Vasil Levski was a Bulgarian revolutionary renowned as the national hero of Bulgaria. Dubbed the Apostle of Freedom, Levski ideologised and strategised a revolutionary movement to liberate Bulgaria from Ottoman rule. Founding the Internal Revolutionary Organisation, Levski sought to foment a nationwide uprising through a network of secret regional committees

9 Bulgarian inventor In 1939, John Vincent Atanasoff developed the Atanasoff Berry Computer (ABC) with Clifford Berry. The ABC used binary math to solve differential equations.

10 Bulgaria is famous for its roses and produces about 85 percent of all the rose oil in the world.
Rose oil is called ‘liquid gold’ because of its great value and is used in making perfumes, soaps, cosmetics, chocolates, and even some kinds of jam and liqueur. The first records about cultivating roses on Bulgarian land go back many centuries YAMEK Ltd.

11 One thing that Bulgarians insist upon owning as their exclusive invention is yogurt--known in Bulgaria as kiselo mlyako. The country's long and affectionate relationship with yogurt dates back to the Thracians, ancient: inhabitants of the Bulgarian lands, when stock-breeders placed sheep's milk in lambskin bags around their waists and fermented yogurt using their own body heat. Even the word 'yogurt' is said to derive from the words for 'thick' and 'milk' in ancient Thracian.
