3 V ISUALIZATION As I read the first few pages of chapter 11, close your eyes and visualize the scene. What parts of the description do you remember most clearly? How can the use of descriptive details add meaning to a subject? How important is prior knowledge when reading?

8 W RITING ABOUT A M EMORY Describe the events in your memory in an essay or poem. Use the descriptions from the previous activity to create word pictures (imagery). When you finish… explain your choice of color and detail within your visualization how did you convey the tone in your description?
