5 Health & Wellness Located: University Centre 3 rd Floor Doors open: 9:00am - 4:00pm (Monday through Friday) Team Includes: Nurses Physicians Personal Counsellors Drug and Alcohol Counsellor Students will always be seen by a H&W professional that day if urgent Off hours – Security first Aid available 24/7

6 Common Questions  Check into healthcare coverage in your home province, including BC.  Explain the difference between basic medical and extended medical.  Send the actual medical cards with your son/daughter  Send support documentation

7 Tips for Parents  Moving away for school is an adjustment for both

8  Being lonely or upset is an appropriate response to moving away from home  Stay in touch (don’t always expect an immediate response)  Send care packages  Counselling  Be realistic about grades  Remind them to check with Health & Wellness if they run into any type of difficulty Tips for Parents
