2 A Cleaner, Greener, Safer Road to Excellence INTRODUCTION Stratford on Avon DC has an annual State of the District Debate as per the Council’s Constitution – this is the start. Consultation with the public and with Councillors. This year public consultation through the Community Forums and SDC website. Will report back to Autumn Forum on issues raised and proposed actions.

3 A Cleaner, Greener, Safer Road to Excellence SOUTHAM & FELDON LOCALITY CENSUS HIGHLIGHTS Southam Locality Population = 17,217 Population density amongst the lowest in the county at 1.05 persons per hectare Lower % in the 20 to 34 age group (13%) vs. County (18%) 2 nd highest of all localities for % of “white British” at 96% More likely to have two or more cars (53% vs. 42% County) 52% of people drive to work in a car or van, the 6 th highest % in the county (46%) Have the highest number of rooms per household for any locality – 6.64 vs 5.70 (County) Higher than average % of part-time female workers (26%) Comparison with all 30 localities in Warwickshire

4 A Cleaner, Greener, Safer Road to Excellence SOUTHAM & FELDON LOCALITY RESIDENTS SURVEY HIGHLIGHTS  Residents in this area less satisfied with their local area as a place to live (87% vs 92% District)  54% of those living in Southam locality stated activities for teenagers most needed improving – District Average 41%  More likely in this locality to say road and pavement repairs most needed improving (45% vs 40% District)  95% of Southam residents are satisfied with refuse collection service provided by SDC (District Average 90%)  90% of Southam residents expressed satisfaction with doorstep recycling (District Average 86%)  Higher satisfaction levels with the local hospital (86%) compared with District Average 80% Comparison with rest of District
