3 COMMUNITY PLANNING GUIDANCE (Local Government Scotland Act, 2003) ”It is particularly important that communities are involved in the planning and delivery of services at a local level, as it is at this level that agencies can come together to work with communities to address local problems and concerns in a way which cannot be achieved at a Council-wide level alone.”

4 DUNDEE PARTNERSHIP COMMITTMENT Following the Community Planning Guidance, the Dundee Partnership is committed to:  placing communities at the heart of community planning.  promoting effective collective engagement by agencies with communities.  developing effective joint working practices between public, private and voluntary sector bodies.  improving the connection between national and local priorities.  achieving agreed outcomes and targets.  promoting active citizenship, community capacity and social inclusion.

8 LOCAL COMMUNITY PLANNING Supporting the Process  The Communities Department of Dundee City Council were charged with leading the process.  The Neighbourhood Partnership Networks provide a mechanism for co-ordinating partner agencies input.  The Building Stronger Communities Theme Group and the Community Learning Partnership provide strategic direction and support.  The Chief Executive of DCC meets NPN Chairs and Communities Officers every 2 months  Local Community Plans formally approved by the Dundee Partnership Management Group and Dundee City Council.
