2 inter}artesthematicnetwork October 2004 – October 2007 Inter}artes is a Socrates Thematic Network for the Higher Arts Education Sector in Europe Partners from 65 arts institutions from almost all EU, EEA, and candidate countries covering all art disciplines inter}artes partners mostly members European League of Institutes of the Arts and ELIA is lead partner Aleksander Zelwerowicz State Theatre Academy Warsaw is the co-ordinator of the network

4 The aims of inter}artes To Promote a strong identity for the creative disciplines in Europe To promote and support cultural diversity in education and society. Identify innovative approaches inspired by cultural, artistic and educational traditions. Build up the capacity of the sector in quality assurance and enhancement, the three-cycle structure, student-centred learning and research Form the Tuning reference for the Higher Arts Education Sector Contribute to comprehensive curricula, balancing arts specific and general competences Connect with professional practice and explore the portfolio careers of graduates Support discipline groups to form new networks initiatives and innovations

Quality assurance/enhancement Raising awareness and capacity building in quality enhancement and self-evaluation (Online) Register of Experts trained to conduct four institutional self-evaluation visits: Cluj-Napoca, Romania; Sofia, Bulgaria; Vilnius, Lithuania; Madrid, Spain Strand 1 and 2 Regional Capacity Building Workshops in Hungary, Greece, Germany and Portugal: Mutual learnig workshop Handbook; Principles and Guidelines for European Quality Assurance/ Enhancement in Higher Arts Education

Tradition of the New Is about artistic traditions, cultural diversity and innovation in learning and teaching 8 Regional Case Studies (1) Theatre Studies – interdisciplinary research; (2) Summer Media Studio – professional skills for film and media students; (3) The changing position of the artist innovative learning environments in Fine Art; (4) Dance and Media Artists (DAMA) – inter-artistic skills and module training; (5) European Opera Tradition in Turkey; (6) Immaterial design – innovating design skills; (7) Choreographic composition in the Europe learning the creative process; (8) Orphic tradition – innovating performance practice skills Innovation DVD presenting design, dance, fine art, film, opera and theatre arts and inter-artistic projects in European Higher Arts Education Brochure Innovation Arts and Culture

Professional Practice Connecting Professional Practice with the curriculum and competences in Higher Arts Education Online Register of Professional Practice experts and representatives from the professional field on track, a student led graduate tracking project, piloted in 2006 e*maPPa (European Masters in Advanced Professional Practice in the Arts) located at the dynamic interface between professional practice and Higher Arts education
