New Products Strategy Or known as Vendor Control
Create a formal process for bringing new items in the hospital. This is one of my goals and I expect to move the process forward shortly after the holidays. In the mean time, it is OK to tell the vendor that this process is in the works and feel free to use this to put anything new on hold.
Have the rep set an appointment with me. I'll gladly put a leash on them and educate them to the process that new items at NWTHS have to be approved through Materials Management.
Without the rep present, feel free to let the doc know that you feel the rep is splitting the hospital staff and the doc for their own personal benefit. Normally sales are tied to bonuses, commissions and other incentives for the rep
If you would like me to talk with the doc, I'll be glad to do so. If you would please just introduce me to the doc, I'll try to take you out of the middle.
