2 SWAAD 2005 – A Taste of India Highlights. 600+ guests. Ticketed event. Students – 10 USD, Non-students – 12 USD, Children – Free. The biggest annual fund-raiser of AID-TAMU – 6000 USD. 50+ student volunteers. Cooking done by students. Extensive Reaching Out program.

3 SWAAD 2005 – A Taste of India Attractions. Food. Festival of lights – light-based displays and exhibits. Discovery of India – An Indian Classical Music audio presentation. Transcendental Emotions – A video show of Bollywood film songs. A collage and photo exhibit stall. A handicraft stall. An ethnic-wear stall. A Mehendi stall.

4 A Taste of India: Welcome Exhibit. Lord Ganapathi – remover of all obstacles.

5 Ticket Counter. Heavy rush at the entrance. Children were allowed free entry.

6 Guests in line for the food. A new mechanism for crowd control was in place for Swaad 2005.

7 A Taste of India: Volunteers serving food. Both non-vegetarian and vegetarian options available for the guests.

8 A Taste of India: Volunteers serving food. Minimal wastage in the food. Guests were given additional helpings too this time.

22 Reaching Out : Students. The diverse student community of Texas A&M was an integral part in the reaching out objective of Swaad 2005.
