Evaluating Professional Development Directions: At your table generate 12-15 questions often found on professional development feedback surveys. Place each question on a separate post it. Read A Conversation with Thomas Guskey using a Final Word strategy.
4
Final Word Dialogue Highlight 2-3 phrases or sentences that resonate with you. Pick one then write it on a post it note. On the back of the post it, write the reason why that phrase/sentence resonated with you. Person A states the phrase /sentence but does not comment on it. In round-robin order, other group members comment on the selected item (without cross talk). The originating person gets the final word by emphasizing why this resonated with him/her. Repeat the process
5
Where do your questions fit? Divide the questions you generated into the 5 levels that Guskey describes. Take the questions to the different flip charts and post. Look at the data. Discuss your assumptions/conclusions at your table. Report out findings.
