4 Population (2010 est.): 94 million (2010 est.) 18.8 million families (HH) Poverty (2009): 26.5%, 24.9 M 20.9 %, 3.9 M HOUSING NEED 5.7 M units (2016) 3.7 M units (2010), 800k provided 3.8% of HH pop in informal settlements (714k) 5.65% of urban HH in informal settlements (74k)

15 COMMUNITY MORTGAGE PROGRAM (Highlights of accomplishment) Since 1989, collection efficiency 76%, latest 12 months – 85% Community members lives were transformed: - confident in their ways - pursue self-improvement – education, income generating activities, became health conscious

16 SOME THOUGHTS ABOUT THE CMP Poverty is not permanent Provision of housing/shelter security aids poverty reduction Poverty is everybodys business (government, private sector and including the poor themselves) Alone we can accomplish little…together we can do so much!
