3 Sparta Sparta, much like Athens, is one of the most well known cities of Greece. Archaeologists have found many Spartan houses. Sparta is very famous for its strong and powerful army's!

4 Spartan life Sparta was one of the strongest city states in Greece. It was ruled by 2 kings at a time and a Council of 30, Had very strict education and training. Boys were not well fed and punished if caught stealing food. Boys were encouraged to fight each other but not in anger.

5 Spartan children When a Spartan baby was born, soldiers came to the house and examined it carefully to determine its strength. The baby was bathed in wine rather than water, to see its reaction. If a baby was weak, the Spartans exposed it on the hillside or took it away to become a slave.Soldiers took the boys from their mothers at age 7, housed them in a dormitory with other boys and trained them as soldiers.

6 Spartan army’s The Spartans were one of the most feared military forces in world history. The most well known wars the Spartans had was called Thermopylae

7 Greek Writing The letters that look familiar are the letters that we used for our English alphabet.
