3 Introduction Hi my name is Will. My animal is a artic fox.

4 Background The artic fox is a mammal. The Latin name is Alopex Lagopus. Artic fox live from 3 to 6 years old. The artic fox is related to wolves, dogs and other fox.

5 Characteristics During summer the artic fox are brown but during winter they are white. Artic fox are the size of a domestic cat. Male artic fox weighs 7lbs. and the female artic fox weighs 6lbs.

6 Diet and Habitat Artic fox are mostly found in the Artic Circle. Some are found on the edges of Canada, Russia and Alaska. Artic fox eat lemmings, insects, eggs, dead animals and birds. It is a omnivore, scavenger and carnivore.

7 Adaptation Artic fox have long bushy tails and white bushy coats to keep warm in winter. Artic fox have thick hair pads on the bottom of their feet to create friction on ice. In this picture you can see the artic fox’s bushy tail and coat.

8 Jaw Dropping Facts The artic fox can survive temperatures as low as -58 degrees. On the coast of the Artic there is a blueish artic fox during winter but during summer they are chocolate brown.

9 Impact of cross breeding and extinction Artic fox die mainly from global warming. Sometimes they die because of hunters and native trap lines or diseases and there are only150 artic foxes left.

10 Conclusion My favorite part of this report was learning that artic fox can survive temperatures as low as -58 degrees.
