BulletinB Broadcast Messages (rather than EMAIL) to ParentConnect or StudentConnect AND it is the first thing they see when they sign in AdminConnect, TeacherConnect on menu Single option to maintain STU.325 Currently broadcast to all.. But we could limit to grade level, tag, course ….??? Date range indicated so you don’t have to remember to remove it from showing Last Update date so user knows the last time something has been posted.

There are now many options for communicating Parent Connect Bulletin Board Email (From CIMS, TC, AC) School Newsletter Your own school website Important to develop a process and be consistent as parents, staff will begin to depend on it.

Email Email in Regular CIMS STU.525 (I prefer it over AC for simple messages and for sending to all school) REALLY Nice cause it sends one message per email address (3 kids in a family - one email) Little inconvenient in attaching a document as IT has to get involved NO formatting for text message! Does not time out - so large blasts will make it! Provides you a list of who it did & did not (no email addr) send to Hints Use on message if you are testing first Notice that you can “cc” the admin group You can set the return email as you or your generic school ID

Sending a 1000K document to 2200 emails (1000 students, 2 guardians, extra guardian) will kill your email server! Can email based on bus route (STU.525 cannot) Can email teachers or all staff (TCH.101 in CIMS) Allows for nicer formatting of your message Sends multiple emails to same email address (3 kids, 3 emails) Hints Use on message if you are testing first Notice that you can “cc” the admin group You can set the return email as you or your generic school ID

14. Doc Size In terms of attaching documents: 30K - nice and small 342K - medium size 800K+ - big (almost 1Meg) 11,991 - huge (11M) Pictures & logos normally affect size. You could have a single word document with one sentence but be 1000K by adding a picture or logo that has not been compressed properly.

16. Auto-Email In CIMS there are auto-email features integrated for teachers: Students with specific marks GRD.558.. Email all those teachers who are missing final marks, email all teachers with failing interims ….. Some schools run ATT.515 daily … do a EMS.900 to email that to the alltchrschla@sdxx.bc.ca distribution list daily
