©2008 GS1 EPCglobal Core requirement – data carriers ONS shall be agnostic as to the data carrier (bar code or RFID) used for the identifier ONS requires that Global Company Prefix be known, doesnt easily support bar codes Does not require that ONS itself provide parsing Parsing may be supplied by external service such as GEPIR or other
