6 Satkorlak PB Provincial Disaster Coordination Board FUNCTIONS : To direct, command and control funding disaster mitigation activities and IDPs management either planning, executing, and evaluation of both disaster mitigation and IDPs management in their area; To coordinate, command and control technical administrative activities of disaster mitigation and IDPs management in their area; To coordinate and control acceptance and distribution of aids and assistances to Bupati/Mayor as a head of SATLAK (district level disaster task force unit); To do other activities according to direction from National BNPB.

8 Disaster Management law Example Negligency upon high risk development subject to a minimum term of imprisonment of 3 years or a maximum term of 6 years and a minimum penalty of IDR 300 million or a maximum penalty of IDR 200 million Causes lost of asset or goods perpetrator is subject to a minimum term of imprisonment of 6 years or a maximum of 8 years and a minimum penalty of IDR 600 million or a maximum penalty of IDR 3 billion. Causes death of person perpetrator is subject to a minimum term of imprisonment of 8 years or a maximum term of 10 years and a minimum penalty of IDR 3 billion or a maximum penalty of IDR 6 billion NAD

24 DRR-A Project To make disaster risk reduction a normal part of the local level development process established in core functions of Acehs local government agencies, its public and private partners, local communities and families. Making Aceh Safer Through Disaster Risk Reduction in Development or DRR-A has been prepared to support Acehs Provincial & District Government Agencies, communities and community based partners re-organize themselves to better prepare for and mitigate disaster risks. Purpose

25 DRR – A Project output 1 Institutional arrangement and enabling environment established to facilitate participatory and concerted implementation of DRR measures 2 Demonstration gender-sensitive project implemented in selected location to test and improve measures for reducing risk from natural disasters 3 TDMRC-UNSYIAH strengthened to provide science-based information, service and knowledge assistance to the local government and other DRR proponents in implementing their DRR activities 4 DRR public awareness programmes implemented to promote gender sensitive culture of safety among the people and institutions of Aceh 5 Project effectively and efficiently managed, monitored, evaluated and audited.
