Cells Cells can be divided into two groups based on the presence of organelles. Organelles – membrane bound structures with specific functions in some cells.
Cells Prokaryotes – (pro means first) cells that do not contain organelles. DNA not contained in nucleus. Seen in unicellular (one cell) like bacteria.
Cells Eukaryotes - Cells that contain membrane bound organelles. Seen in multicellular organisms and unicellular organisms like protists, algae and yeast. Allows chemical reactions to happen in different parts of the cell at the same time.
