U.S. UCAN is a program within Internet2 that is focused on supporting community anchor institution (CAI) broadband adoption and advanced use. No. The U.S. UCAN program relies on and utilizes Internet2’s backbone and regional network providers’ network infrastructure to provide CAIs broadband. Internet2 staff supports U.S. UCAN. Three staff members and two part-time consultants are focused on U.S. UCAN activities with the oversight of an executive sponsor, support from other Internet2 divisions, and strategic planning from an advisory council.
