Nineveh & Jonah  Jonah 3:5-10 –  (5) So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth”  (10) Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil ways; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.”

Judah & Zephaniah  Zephaniah 2:1-3 –  (2) “BEFORE the decree is issued, or the day passes like chaff, BEFORE the Lord’s fierce anger comes upon you, BEFORE the day of the Lord’s anger comes upon you!”  (3) “SEEK the Lord, all you meek of the earth, who have upheld His justice, SEEK righteousness, SEEK humility. It may be that you will be hidden in the day of the Lord’s anger”

Paul  I Timothy 1:12-16 –  (13) “I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man”  (15) “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief”  (16) “However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life”

Paul  Acts 26:9-11 –  (9) “I myself thought I must do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth”  (10) “many of the saints I shut up in prison…, and when they were put to death, I cast my vote against them”  (11) “I punished them often in every synagogue and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly enraged against them, I persecuted them even to foreign cities.”

Conclusion  II Peter 3:9-11 –  (9) “but is longsuffering toward us, not willing any should perish but that all should come to repentance”  (10) “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night”  (11) “what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness”

Conclusion  What a great God that we serve.  A God that is longsuffering, desiring that we be saved.  Yet, we must be willing to repent.  Changing our lives to reflect Christ  STOP sinning & START living for God
