 Take a Snowman Venn Diagram – 12 points! (2 points per empty space –must be complete & correct to earn credit)  Turn in Boxed Questions (your HW)  Over the next 2 days, look for AS MANY SCENARIOS AS YOU CAN where Newton’s 1 st and/or 2 nd Laws apply. Be ready to discuss them next class for an activity.  FINISH today’s Math Practice problems. They will be posted on my website. We are playing a game using them next class.  Ensure that the boxed questions are COMPLETELY DONE and CORRECTED. We are playing a game using them next class.  Start preparing for test on Ch. 4-5-6… Dec. 17 th (A) & 18 th (B)  Study Guides will be online by tomorrow; hard copies on Wed.  Extra Credit opportunity – medicine drive for Dominican republic

 For the Newton’s Laws Test … Dec. 17 th (A) & 18 th (B)  EXTRA CREDIT: M edicine drive for Dominican republic  DEADLINE OF DECEMBER 16.  Mrs. Bella’s Daughter is collecting Medicine for a Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic.  Medication needed is on the collection box; feel free to take a picture.  If 50% of the class brings in item(s), the whole class will receive 1 extra credit question on the test.  75% of the class = 2 extra credit questions.  100% of the class = 3 extra credit questions.  ALSO - For every 1 item you bring in, you will receive 1 additional extra credit question on the test. Maximum of additional 10 questions.

 Collection items include brand name & generic versions of the following : Tums, Benadryl, Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), Naproxen (Aleve), Chewable Kids Tylenol, Antibiotic Ointment (Neosporin), Antifungal Cream, Hydrocortisone cream, artificial tear drops (NOT contact solution!) Adult Multivitamins, Prenatal Vitamins, Children Vitamins ( NOT gummy) Iron Supplement (325 mg), Pepcid, Biscodyl

 #14-15 from MILLIONAIRE – we are going over them together. › Know how to do them? Review Boxed Questions w/group  Groups review of Boxed HW questions  Start tonight’s HW if time provides. › CHECK IN with a teacher if you need HELP or CLARIFICATION!  Last 5 minutes of class are an exit slip! › #14 - A crate has a mass of 10kg. You personally pull with a force of 10N, but the force of friction is 4N. Suppose the crate is already moving at 1m/s. How fast will it be moving after you have pulled it for 10 seconds? › #15 - A 1000 gram toy car is moving at 1m/s, and eventually slows to 0.2 m/s in 4 seconds. If 5 N of friction act on the car, how much force is the car applying to make itself move?

 #14-15 from MILLIONAIRE – we are going over them together. › CHECK IN for help  Then, meet with groups of your choosing to review the Boxed HW questions, and start tonight’s HW if time provides. › CHECK IN with a teacher if you need HELP or CLARIFICATION!  Last 5 minutes of class are an exit slip!

#24 – see HW solution (we did this already) #25…No…you can only conclude that no NET force acts on it #27….as you burn fuel, you lose mass…less mass, more acceleration! #28…1N in the direction opposite to push #35…. Still 1 m/s2 #36….4 m/s2 #37…. 2x mass = ½ the acceleration….so 1.5 m/s #38…Net F = 0….Friction = 100 N opposite to push #39… ¾ the force means ¾ the acceleration… so 1.5 m/s2 CHALLENGE #1 – Mass = 2000 kg, weight is approx. 4400 pounds; 19,600 N CHALLENGE #2 – F = approx. 1818 N (first, solve for acc. Then, convert lb  kg… Then, F = ma)

ID_____Name________ Date (12/9/13) 1. On a scale of 1-5, 1 being the least, how confident are you with Newton’s 1 st -2 nd Laws? 2. Explain WHY you answered the way you did in #1 – BE COMPLETE 3. On a scale of 1-5, 1 being the least, how prepared are you for the upcoming test? 4. Explain WHY you answered the way you did in #2 – BE COMPLETE 5. Any general questions, comments, concerns, etc...
