What is Bacteria? Bacteria are organisms made up of just one cell. They can be in different shapes like spheres, rods and spirals. They can multiply themselves each 20 minutes. Bacteria exist everywhere, inside and on our bodies. Most of them are harmless and some of them are very useful. Some bacteria can cause diseases because they are in the wrong place in our body or they are designed that way.
Problems and diseases caused by bacteria… Cholera Cholera is disease caused by infection of the intestine with the bacterium. Q Fever People get infected by breathing in the bacteria, usually while in contact with infected animals, or animal products. Whooping cough (Pertussis) Whooping cough may start like a cold, with a runny nose, sneezing and tiredness, and then the cough develops, and can be followed by vomiting or gagging. It can be spread to other people by coughing and sneezing. Tuberculosis Tuberculosis is a bacterial infection that can affect almost any part of the body but most commonly the lungs.

List of ways prevent from getting ill… Wash your hands before cooking or eating and after using the toilet. You can use a hand sanitizer to kill most of the bacteria. Keep cutting boards and food preparation areas clean by washing them with soap and water and allowing them to dry. Keep raw food away from cooked food. Drink plenty of fresh and clean water. Breathe clean air. Avoid smoky and dusty environments, or places where people are coughing or sneezing.
