INSME – International Network for SMEs INSME’s 2 Dimensions  An international Forum for an open, regular political dialogue on SME innovation related issues involving major national and international players: - GOVERNMENTS - INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATIONS - INTERNATIONAL FINANCING INSTITUTIONS  A new actor and incubator for operational activities to be carried out with INSME Members and in cooperation with Partners at local and international level according to sectors and geographic areas of interest 3

INSME – International Network for SMEs 8 INSME Members - International Organisations 8 International Organisations are Members of the INSME Association - African Development Bank Group - CEI - COMSATS - OSCE - RITLA - UNCTAD - UNESCO - WIPO The INSME Association was also granted the OECD’s moral sponsorship and consultative status by UNIDO’s Industrial Development Board.

INSME – International Network for SMEs Priorities in 2005 9  Increase interaction and regular contacts between the INSME Secretariat and INSME Members (especially Full Members) and foster linkages and exchanges among Members on a thematic/sectoral/geographical basis  Improve Member’s satisfacion by personalising and targeting more timely information and opportunities on a one-to-one basis (off line and on line)  Participate in international calls for tenders/proposals as a partner organisation privileging inputs from Members/Partners  Increase financial incomes by involving new Members / Sponsors / providing value added services and extending INSME’s geographical reach  Plan and develop operational activities/projects to the benefit of Members  Acquire legal recognition as an Association according to the Italian Law

INSME – International Network for SMEs “Boosting Innovation by Bridging the Knowledge Gap A Developer-User Approach” Montevideo (Uruguay) April 24 - 26, 2006 Co-hosting and Co-organisation The call for Co-hosting and Co-organisation of the INSME Association’s Annual Meeting in 2006 was won by CEGETEC (Centre for Technology Management, Chamber of Industries of Uruguay). The call for collaboration was made to both INSME Members and Non-Members from all over the globe and in-kind Full Membership will be granted to the Co-host for 2006.
