Computing Curricula for Ukrainian Universities (CC4U2) – Ph. Lahire 6 Programming techniques (C or java) Databases (relational databases) SQL (creation and manipulation) Algorithms Operating systems (Windows and Linux) Object-oriented conception (UML, design pattern, etc) Basics in economics Basics in company management Basics in accounting Basics in marketing Entering the fourth year of University (Master 1 MIAGE - Faculty of Sciences) (Master 1 MIAGE - Faculty of Sciences ) Requirements (level expected in L3 MIAGE) From Kharkov and Kherson all informatics specialities in Ukraine Units are common to all informatics specialities in Ukraine “accounting” knowledge will have to be adapted to the host country specific harmonisation process handled in the host institution. Context Requirements Process Conclusion

Computing Curricula for Ukrainian Universities (CC4U2) – Ph. Lahire 7 Entering the fourth year of University (Master 1 IFI - Faculty of Sciences & Polytech’Sophia) Requirements (level expected in L3 IFI) From Kharkov and Kherson Programming techniques (C or java) Databases (creation and manipulation) Algorithms Operating systems (windows and Linux) Object-oriented conception (UML, design pattern…) oror Complex systems or logic programming or office informatics Automata and language (theory of compiling) Internet programming Programming operating systems oror Concurrent programming or advanced internet programming or advanced OOD oror Project management or database administration or introduction to telecommunication Mandatory courses are covered by the Ukrainian curriculum Optional courses correspond to optional courses in Ukrainian universities Context Requirements Process Conclusion

Computing Curricula for Ukrainian Universities (CC4U2) – Ph. Lahire 8 Advanced database Advanced programming (java) and design patterns Distributed systems Advanced Compiling (grammar, parser, etc.) XML technology Infrastructure and protocols of the networks Web applications Analysis and design of application with advanced UML Computer-science policies in companies Management simulation Finance affairs and diagnostics Company creation Management control and audit Entering the fifth year of University (Master 2 MIAGE - Faculty of Sciences) Requirements (level expected in M1 MIAGE) From Kharkov and Kherson Mandatory courses are covered by the Ukrainian curriculum Optional courses correspond to optional courses in Ukrainian universities Kharkov there is no specialization before the fifth year Kharkov: about computer science most of the knowledge is covered by the mandatory and elective courses (there is no specialization before the fifth year). About management, the students will have to follow additional courses in order to fulfil to the requirements. This will be done by the inclusion of elective courses in the fourth year in KhNU programs. Kherson Kherson: About computer science most of the knowledge is covered by the specializations provided at KSU. About economics, the students will have to follow additional course units in order to fulfil to the requirement. This will be done in the faculty of economics of KSU. Context Requirements Process Conclusion

Computing Curricula for Ukrainian Universities (CC4U2) – Ph. Lahire 9 Entering the fifth year of University (Master 2 IFI - Faculty of Sciences & Polytech’Sophia) Requirements (level expected in M1 IFI) Mandatory units Mandatory units : Object persistence models XML technology Introduction to calculability Distribution and concurrency Software engineering Introduction to logics Distributed Programming Networks Introduction to complexity Introduction to semantics 3 units chosen from 3 units chosen from: System programming or Image Synthesis or Digital Electronics or Introduction to decision Databases or Constraint programming. One of the three groups of options : ++ G1: Cryptography and Security + Systems Programming + Compiling ++ G2 : advanced relational databases + databases administration + Web 2.0 ++ G3 : software Architecture + Web 2.0 + man-machine Interface Kharkov Kharkov: Three of five in the list of options (System programming or Introduction to decision Databases or constraint programming) are covered. About the group of options, KhNU covers G1 (except cryptography – only basics), G2 and G3. Kherson Kherson: Only one among three in the list options is covered by KSU. “Introduction to semantics” is not covered. KSU covers G2 and G3 but for G1 it provides only some bases of the 3 courses. Context Requirements Process Conclusion

Computing Curricula for Ukrainian Universities (CC4U2) – Ph. Lahire 10 Other Requirements  Language (750 at TOEIC test or similar)  English courses : France & Ukraine not ready  some attempts : A master 2 in English at Polytech vs  Specialization vs Major and Elective courses  6 months or one-year exchanges  One-year : host university diploma : possible  Six-month : Sending university diploma only  Selection is always performed by the host university Context Requirements Process Conclusion individual program Implement a solution

Computing Curricula for Ukrainian Universities (CC4U2) – Ph. Lahire 11 Main Steps (1)  To establish pedagogical requirements  To set main rules to be applied to the exchange  To look to logistic  To sign a general agreement  To write a first attempt of the annex (specific to a field)  To submit it to the faculty/school board  To submit a version in the local language to the ministry Context Requirements Process Conclusion
