Following the Signs At the beginning He did not make himself known to her, first she caught sight of a thirsty man, then she saw a Jew, then a Rabbi, afterwards a prophet, last of all the Messiah. She tried to better the thirsty man, she disliked the Jew, she heckled the Rabbi, was swept away by the prophet, and adored the Messiah. The Water of Life leads to worship, which leads to wonders.
