GSC: Standardization Advancing Global Communications Review of GTSC3 63 attendees. 25 input documents presented and discussed. 8 High Interest Subjects discussed No critical subjects requiring immediate follow-up Fruitful discussions on a range of topics Co-operative spirit led to 3 Resolutions being agreed ITU-T reminded the PSOs that their workshops are open to all, and welcomed them to attend. SOURCE:ETSI TITLE:Review of GTSC3 AGENDA ITEM:GTSC4 3 CONTACT: GTSC4(06)02

GSC: Standardization Advancing Global Communications NGN – General Collaboration between SDOs and ITU-T is considered to be working well The issue was raised of different applications of IMSs existing that will require interworking. This is presently being studied by ETSI TISPAN The GTSC Resolution on NGN was approved (gsc10_gtsc3_22r3)

GSC: Standardization Advancing Global Communications NGN – Architecture and Protocols There is a need for a coordinated global study of SIP profiles. There is a shared desire to move towards a SINGLE SIP profile solution. The desire to have a convergence of NGN signalling is now included in the revised NGN resolution.

GSC: Standardization Advancing Global Communications NGN – End-to-End QoS There are existing questions related to the QoS work in ITU-T. ATIS stressed that the work on QoS must remain ITU-centric. It was considered that work on End to End QoS is progressing well and is covered in the revised NGN resolution. There is no need for a specific E2E QoS resolution.

GSC: Standardization Advancing Global Communications NGN – Network Management Action on the Prime-PSO (ETSI): to ensure input on this HIS to GTSC4

GSC: Standardization Advancing Global Communications NGN – Service Platforms This work does not need to be maintained as a stand-alone HIS, and will be included under the service of interworking HIS

GSC: Standardization Advancing Global Communications NGN – Lawful/Legal Interception There was a call to further harmonize the work on Li in order to avoid overlap and improve coordination Agreed that all LI presentations should be handled in Joint session, GTSC specific parts should be handled only in GTSC

GSC: Standardization Advancing Global Communications NGN – Security There was a call for ongoing efforts including collaboration between SDOs in upfront design for Security Updated GSC#10 Resolution agreed on Cybersecurity (gsc10_gtsc3_05r1).

GSC: Standardization Advancing Global Communications NGN – Service of Interworking ACIF can no longer continue as Prime- PSO, ATIS will assume this role for future meetings. Service of Interworking will encompass the service platforms issue HIS renamed to Service Platforms and Interworking of Services

GSC: Standardization Advancing Global Communications Home networking Home networking was agreed to become a HIS. ITU-T will take the lead on this HIS Overlap, relationship between Home networking and NGN needs to be recognised. New GSC#10 Resolution on Home Networking. (gsc10_gtsc3_06r1)
