Requirements for MCAP Application Master’s degree in a related counseling field  counseling, social work, psychology, advanced nurse practitioner with psychiatric specialty or rehabilitation counseling 350 hours of education/training in the domains; all of the CAP domains, plus Supervision 200 hours of clinical supervision 4,000 hours of supervised work experience  Practicums as a part of a master’s program and at addiction service agencies can count toward this 3 Letters of Recommendation Passing the 125 item MCAP certification exam 9

MCAP Application/Licensed Professionals Proof of Florida license  A physician or physician’s assistant (Chapters 458 or 459, F.S.)  A professional licensed under Chapters 490 or 491, F.S.  A Psychiatric Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) licensed under Part 1 of Chapter 464, F.S. and meeting the Board of Nursing requirements for a Psychiatric ARNP designation. 145 hours of education/training; plus 18 hours of supervision-specific training 3 Letters of Recommendation Passing the 125 item MCAP certification exam 10
