6  Access Requirements ◦ TMAS staff must receive the following information from the director or coordinator: ◦ What access you will need in TMAS (Administrator or Proctor) If indicated as becoming a Proctor in TMAS we will need verification that you have received Proctor training ◦ Your email address, and telephone number ◦ Confirmation you have read the POST Test Use and Security Agreement and have a signed Attachment A on file at the presenter agency  Read and become familiar with presenter Test Security policy

7 ◦ Valid course control number and presentation code in EDI  Contact your POST Consultant for assistance  Maria Goshop is the EDI coordinator. To obtain passwords, navigation assistance; Maria.Goshop@post.ca.gov or (916) 227- 4858Maria.Goshop@post.ca.gov  Certified Course in EDI ◦ POST staff monitors TMAS to ensure that valid courses are entered ◦ Presenters are responsible for requesting a presentation number in EDI

8 Training by POST staff ONLY  Director or Coordinator must contact Kenya Smith to authorize training within two weeks of requested training date RTO staff not authorized to request training  Training will be conducted no earlier than two weeks prior to your class beginning  Ensure you have an exit strategy to ensure new staff will have time to receive training prior to staff rotating out

9  An option for academies/colleges to allow students to register for your upcoming class once it is approved in EDI  ◦ Students log into a separate website and register with the class information you provide ◦ Registration can be done at your site during orientation or prior to start of class  Alleviates data entry for staff (especially for academies with multiple or large classes) ◦ System generates student ID. Staff can change ID numbers once if necessary prior to first exam  Academies do not have to conduct online testing to utilize this option

10  TMAS functions on a USB flash drive, isolated from the PC  The flash drive is set up with self-contained TMAS environment ◦ No IT setup needed – simple to implement (requires boot from USB) ◦ Bypasses the PC’s internal hard drive and makes it inaccessible ◦ Limits network connections to TMAS servers ◦ Shifts secured item from the PC itself to the flash drive ◦  Allows proctored test PCs to be used for any other task without security concerns  Boot Drives can be used in a college lab environment but must meet all security protocols set by POST. 12  ALL TESTS WRITTEN AND APPROVED BY A PANEL OF VOLUNTEERS ◦ Directors –Coordinators- Instructors-Subject Matter Experts  Workbooks Are Resource For Test Questions  All Answers Found In Workbook

13 POST protocols state that instructors are only allowed access to test material in conjunction with an administrative test review which cannot take place until after a test administration. BE AWARE instructors cannot proctor the written/comprehensive test(s) covering the subjects they teach.

14 - If there is an error in a workbook DO NOT TEACH BAD OR INCORRECT INFORMATION. Provide the correct information and notify POST BTB staff of the error - If an error is found in a test question the director or coordinator may submit a REPORT OF ITEM ERROR POST regulations have been changed and now POST test questions shall only be excluded with POST authorization at the request of the Academy Director, Modular Format Coordinator, or authorized Program Coordinator  It is a violation of the Test Use and Security Agreement to email the contents of a test question

15  POST staff hours are Monday-Friday, 8-5:00pm  Ensure all secondary measures are in place for testing: ◦ Online academies; paper-and-pencil testing if online becomes unavailable ◦ Ensure all passwords are up to date prior weekend testing
