2 Motive using IT in support of modern student-centered teaching and learning to: –give students better knowledge about real world problems; –introduce them to collaborative work with different kind of professionals; –give students more flexibility regarding time and place of learning; –make study of civil engineering more interesting and attractive; –decrease percentage of students dropping the study of civil engineering.

3 Problems Traditional instructor centered lecturing is outdated; –It does not encourage students’ creativity and does not give them knowledge about real-life problems; Distinction between the first two (traditional way) and last two years of study (project and problem oriented, team work, real-life problems) Experience based knowledge is as important as the traditionally structured knowledge (based on feelings, descriptive and difficult to present traditionally)

4 Ways problem-based teaching project-based teaching team work "real-life" problems distance learning (flexibility regarding time and place of learning ) presentation of experience-based knowledge
