Problem were solving RSVP GR when FRR is in effect R1R2R3 R6 Protected LSP : R1-R2-R3-R4-R5 Bypass LSP : R2-R6-R4 PLR : R2 MP : R4 R4R5
Problem were solving (Cont) PLR and MP are more than one hop away via bypass tunnel for facility protection When FRR triggers, traffic on protected LSPs is switched to go through bypass tunnel There is no hello between the PLR and MP if they are multiple hops away
Solution Allow RSVP hello session to be established between non-directly- connected nodes Hello is sent via IP, TTL is set to 255 Hello is sent via tunnel, TTL is set to 1
Solution (Cont) Non-directly-connected neighbor discovery - discovered dynamically, e.g. by bypass tunnel setup and being selected for FRR - manual configuration
