3 THE LOSS OF SO MANY JOBS IN THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY AND THE INCREASE OF VARIOUSE FORMS OF CASUAL WORK HAS LED TO AN INCRAESE IN THE NUMBER OF LOW PAID JOBS. BEING IN EMPLOYMENT IS NO GUARNTEE OF AVOIDING POVERTY AS MANY POORLY PAID JOBS DO NO GIVE WAGES BIG ENOUGH ENOGH FOR THERE WORKERS TO LIVE ON. DESPITE AN INCREASE ON THE LEVEL OF MINIMUM WAGE IN, ALMOST A THIRD OF ALL FULL TIME WORKERS IN SCOTLAND ARE PAID BELOW THE NATIONAL AVERAGE.
