A sacrament is a concrete, visible sign of God’s saving power, God’s help and support for us. The sacraments were given form and meaning by Jesus during his life on earth; they didn’t just come from the imagination of the early Christians. Sacraments are part of the heritage of Jesus; the Church has not only passed on the sacraments for 2000 years, but continues to renew the practice of the sacraments in the community. 2:1

God’s power is always with us, working, because through Jesus, God the Father sent the Holy Spirit to dwell with and in us, urging us to live the kind of good life that Jesus intended for all people.
