7 What are the differences between online banking bill pay and paying a bill on the website of the company you owe? Online banking bill pay is where you link your bills directly to your bank account and pay multiple bills from your banks website. The alternative is to go directly to the companys website and log in it to pay (i.e. Direct TV or Verizon Wireless). Differences

9 Security NEVER tell anyone your online banking password. NEVER follow a link to a bank website. ALWAYS check the url to make sure you are on the correct website. Whether the computer is at home or a public computer be sure to log out of the bank website when you are not with the computer.
