Parents Guide to the CMSD Website A CYC Elective 3-29-12
Outcomes Increase parents awareness of the resources and information available on a school districts website Teach parents how to bookmark important links for easy retrieval Teach parents how to search for school information
Getting Started Successful school website navigation starts with understanding how to use bookmarks – Allows you to quickly find resources that are important to you – Helps you organize all of the information and resources you find on school websites
Bookmarks or Favorites Saves the address of a favorite Internet site in a file in order to revisit that site in the future. Explorer: favorites
Search Successful school website navigation is assisted by utilizing search tools. Two methods – Search using the CMSD Schools Search – Search using Googles Advanced Search Tools
CMSDnet.net Search Searching using the School Websites Search tools Navigate to www.cmsdnet.netwww.cmsdnet.net Enter search words into the search field at the top of the page and hit return on your keyboard
