2 Pericles on citizenship and democracy? Our constitution does not copy the laws of neighbouring states; we are rather a pattern to others than imitators ourselves. Its administration favours the many instead of the few; this is why it is called a democracy. A quote from Pericles Funeral Oration from the 5th Century BC recorded by Thucydides

3 Collaborative problem solving Deliberative democracy: 1. Involving a representative selection of citizens, interests and/or perspectives; 1. Guiding them through a facilitated and informed process of dialogue and deliberation; and 1. Allowing citizens to set agendas and make decisions.
