Argentina fills up most of the tip of South America. Argentina is as large as the U.S. east of the Mississipi River. The northern area is subtropical. The farther south you go, the cooler it gets. The far south has long, cold winters. Penguins live in the cold regions. Summer begins in December and winter begins in July.
