2 Financials Fund balances June $ 53,248 June $ 90,191 June $141,322 June $212,191 Fund balance has increased by an average of 60% each of the last 3 years, due in large part to the success of SAC

3 Membership/Volunteer Development Membership – currently 334 Membership has increased at average of 13% over the last 3 years, primarily among affiliate and student members Elections held in June 2005 – 4 incumbent officers ran against 4 candidates who had never been involved with SIGAPP previously, 2 new officers elected Much enthusiasm among membership for SIGAPP activities

4 Conferences SAC 2002 (Madrid, Spain), 2003 (Melbourne, FL), 2004 (Nicosia, Cyprus), 2005 (Santa Fe, NM), 2006 (Dijon, France), 2007 (Seoul, Korea) Attendance has averaged approximately 275 over last 4 years, increasing approximately 50% from 2002 to 2005 Paper submissions have averaged 633 submissions per year over last 4 years, increasing approximately 67% from 2002 to 2005 In 2005, SAC moved to a 5 day event to accommodate the increased number of papers Surplus over last 4 years has averaged $35,677 Others In-Cooperation – Interop-ESA 2005, BSN 2005

5 Member Benefits Affiliate members receive reduced registration to SAC Student members may apply for student travel award to attend conferences sponsored by SIGAPP (new in 2005) Distinguished Service Awards Improved publication planned

6 Publications SIGAPP Newsletter, Applied Computing Review, was terminated by ACM after 10 years when SIGAPP became conference-only SIG in 2002 Members have indicated preference for refereed publication over reviewed one, so ACR may no longer be preferred publication Currently looking into establishment of refereed publication, e.g. ACM Transactions on Applied Computing
