8 School Board Partners Board partners can provide insight into what’s going on in various high schools Provide in-school promotion/awareness to teachers and students (through distribution of SCWI promo materials) Recruit most appropriate students for D.C. programs and activities

9 Partner Colleges Collaboration with other colleges to build on their best practices and success If they’ve created a winning formula – use it – don’t reinvent the wheel

10 Past and Present Dual Credit Participants Gather feedback from students who’ve attended dual credit programs and SCWI activity days Share feedback with faculty, deans, coordinators – keep them abreast of what’s happening and what the students are saying Petition students for testimonials

12 Working with Local News Media Develop contacts with appropriate local news media Ensure they have background and access to key spokes- people Invite them to activity days Don’t be shy – pitch ideas (involve college PR, journalism, and marketing students)

13 In Conclusion Be opportunistic – hunt for tie-ins, piggyback on other community/college events that will allow you to showcase the SCWI programs. Build and maintain good relationships with partners and stakeholders – make their jobs easy Take advantage of available software
