7 IETF 73, 19 November, 2008, Minneapolis, USA7 Inter Organizational The IAB is about to send a report to the UN, on behalf of the IETF, on its efforts with respect to the Enhanced cooperation –A response to the March 2008 request by United Nations Under-Secretary General Sha Zukang for an annual report on steps taken toward "enhanced cooperation" on public policy issues pertaining to the Internet. The IAB has responded to the notice of enquiry from the US Dept. of Commerce on deployment of DNSSEC in the root

8 IETF 73, 19 November, 2008, Minneapolis, USA8 IETF Organizational We started the selection for the IAB appointee to the IAOC See BCP 101 (RFC 4071), procedures documented in BCP 113 (RFC 4333) The nominations period will close on 26 Nov 2008 –This selection process is parallel to the Nomcom selection

9 IETF 73, 19 November, 2008, Minneapolis, USA9 IETF Organizational RFC Editor Model IAB: responsible for maintaining/defining the RFC Editor model IAOC: responsible for implementation of agreement between the IETF and the RFC editor RFC Editor contract up for bids in 2009 In order to guarantee continuity going forward we needed a comprehensive model

11 IETF 73, 19 November, 2008, Minneapolis, USA11 RFC editor model (2) IAB made a decision to implement that model –First published as draft-iab-rfc-editor-model-00 –Currently being clarified and refined based on input received after that decision was made IAOC working on the implementation –Advisory committee established: Scott Bradner, Leslie Daigle, Craig Partridge, Ray Pelletier, Russ Housley, and Olaf Kolkman –Advises IAOC and IAB
