MIF Training AUGUST 17 - 18

Log In to Teachscape to View Videos NOTE: You will need to disable pop-up blockers in order to view the videos through the website.  www.teachscape.com  Click “Customer Login” in the upper right hand corner.  Click “Teachscape Effectiveness Platform.”  Enter your username and password.  Click “Learn” in the upper left hand corner.  Click “Video Channels.”  Click “My Channels” in the window that pops up.  Choose the video you want to watch, and hit play.

Naming of Videos Example: SmithJ.4.032415.3  Teacher’s Last Name, First Initial, Class Period, Date of Video, Cycle  The grade level should be provided to the side when you click on the video.  It is a good idea to save your reports using the same format, adding “mcr” or “mifcif” to indicate the type of report. Ex: SmithJ.4.032415.3mcr or SmithJ.4.032415.3mifcif

Writing the Reports  Use the rubric indicator sheet to help score the nine categories on the Mathematics Content Rubric (MCR).  Provide evidence from the teacher’s lecture when explaining why a score was given.  Use the example video and reports provided to see how the rubric is used.  Do the MIF to CIF report last, as it provides an overall view of the lesson and identifies the strong and weak points.

Submitting Reports on Database Website: http://educpoint.tosm.ttu.edu/applications/i3gra nt/Login.aspx  After typing in the username and password, there are 2 options corresponding to each of the reports.  Mathematics Content Rubric (more detailed report scoring 9 areas)  MIF Report to CIF on Mathematics Content Knowledge (refinement and reinforcement indicator)

Submitting Reports  After choosing from one of the two options above, click “Launch Mathematics Content Rubric” (for example).  Fill in the blanks and choose the appropriate options from drop-down menus when provided.  Click “Submit” when you are finished.

Submitting Reports  The completed report will show on a new screen. You can view these reports, but you do not have access to them to edit them once they have been submitted. For this reason, it is strongly suggested that you type the report in Word, save it, and edit it before you submit the report on the database.  Don’t forget to e-mail BOTH reports to the appropriate CIF (or upload them to a shared Dropbox, whichever the CIF prefers) once they are complete. Usually an email will suffice.

Accessing Previously Submitted Reports  After choosing the desired rubric, you will be able to see the list of reports you’ve submitted.  Click on a teacher’s name to view a report.  Again, you will not be able to edit or revise previously submitted reports. You may only view, print or e-mail them.
